Hampi - Ancient Kingdom in Ruins - Day 2+3

Final sunset at Hampi - when ham and pie come together, you know it'll be good. Right?

This stone chariot is very famous - I saw postcards and pictures of it all over town.  I don't know the story behind it, but it looks cool right!

This walkway was sooooo long and sooo hot out...
Another reminder of my trip to Angkor Wat - The largest temple on Earth for 1,000 years - most likely built by Indian Kings from Tamil Nadu

Where's Waldo?
#smile

The Queen's Bathhouse
If this was fully renovated and a working bathhouse, it would be better than anything in a Trump hotel, by at least 2 dirty rotten tomatoes on trippingadvisor.

School trip.
Kids are funny.
I saw the teachers scolding them (in futility) for smiling and waving at the foreigners.
Pick your battles teachers...please.

You don't have to be Muslim to understand this.
Also, Yamaha makes great bikes :)

Hey Bro let's line up a cool selfie through these two pillars and then one of you guys can block it with your middle finger! Yea bro! It's like we are Americans from the Hollywood films bro! Dude!

I loved this place. Don't have a clue what it is.  For bathing? Ceremonies? The geometry alone is awesome.  Kind of reminds me of something from Tomb Raider or The Mummy or Indiana Jones, a movie like that.

Lotus Mahal
Mahal probably refers to this symmetrical architecture style, e.g. Taj Mahal.

I've only seen black stone like this once before, at Angkor Wat. Could be from millions of hands polishing it, over hundreds of years.

Balance is Golden

Stuck in a happy maze

You can see where the kind of rocks and how they are placed changes right? Must be two different time periods I think.

Can you guess why they call it the underground temple?

Holy Cow!

Is it an honor to be photo-bombed by a professional photographer? Yes, definitely.

Yet another short time friend

Had a long chat with the two guys behind me at the bus station.  The younger boy on the left was too shy to say hello, but had no problem photo-bombing :)
Indian people are very much like Chinese - they are direct - they come right up to you, say something like, you married? No? well you must be stupid! And continue to chat, not taking anything personally and not expecting you to take anything personally, like we all family.
The guy in the middle is almost my age and within five minutes he 1) invited me to his wedding and 2) asked me often I masturbate.
#goodtimes

Krishna Temple in Hampi. This was an emotional and momentous occasion for me, as the first Krishna temple I visited in India as a devotee of Krishna.

I looked all over the temple for the Kalki image, and couldn't find it.  He is the next incarnation of Vishnu, who will come during this age. We are now in Kali Yuga - the darkest of times, and it only just began.  Things will get so bad (irreligious) that the only hope will be Kalki - and he comes with a sword on horseback, to annihilate the demons. This temple is dedicated to Krishna, who came down to give the people Yoga.  Buddha is also a Vishnu incarnation, He came down to stop animal slaughter, and we have already failed his lesson. Yoga is great, and will last, but it is not perfect, there will always be tricksters and sinners, and there is only one final solution for them. #Kalki

This used to be a market...maybe it still is on some days, but it doesn't look like it.
