I found the best guesthouse and bar in Chiang Rai I think...barber and tattoo shop in house, and always a big bike outside.
Harley tractor, he calls it. 1300CC, but not that fast, and really loud; pure American muscle.

These are all pictures from the golden triangle - where Thailand meets Myanmar and Laos. Also this is where the Mekong river merges. For many years it was famous for opium production, and then during war time lots of activity here. But now, like most things, it's just a place for tourists to go and take pictures!
Pictures below are from the opium museum, there are 2 large museums in this area with loads of information and "artifacts" from the good ole days of opium production, long before the USA gained monopoly of that market :(
Maybe they are just mushrooms...but why in the museum gift shop!?
I have no idea what this scorpion statue represents or means.
